Reign Over Me

Have you ever lost? Ever lost something? Lost something which defined you? Imagine you’re a happily married man with beautiful, loving children. Then one day you turn on the TV and realize they’re now gone. They’re gone, and you’re alone. How will you cope? What will your life be now?
These are the questions that the new Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle film Reign Over Me attempt to answer. Adam plays a dentist who’s family was on one of the downed airliners on 9/11. This soon-to-be-released movie is a unique view of the pain of loss. It’s a different take from the recent films United 93 and World Trade Center. Instead of focusing on the unique tragedy of that day, it turns the camera and exposes the side of grief which is more common to us all.
Looks like a great film. To be released this March.
Here’s the HighDef version. Below is the low res version from YouTube.

People imagine that missing a loved one works kind of like missing cigarettes — The first day is really hard but the next day is less hard and so forth, easier and easier the longer you go on…
But instead it’s like missing water — Every day, you notice the person’s absence more.
