Wes, Kari, Grace, and Abby came to visit this weekend. It was so much fun. They arrived on Friday and we were able to see some small parts of the town. We ate and listened to music on the green at the Promenade, visited Charlotte’s children’s library, ImagineOn, at at Pikes, went to Elevation Church, ate at the Penguin, the Roasting Company, and enjoyed our last meal together this morning at Krispy Kreme.
The girls are so wonderful to be around. They are always so happy, cheerful, and incredibly endearing. (Continue reading…)
My buddy Jonathan Grubbs helped create this video. A great video made by a great guy, produced by a great organization, all for the purpose of publicizing a great message.

We’ve all seen the commercials. But, what does it really mean to “act like men”? I think that it has something to do with fulfilling your biblical duties. Not many people enjoy hearing what they are doing wrong, or being called out, or being told that they need to step up. But, I really feel God is calling on Godly men to step up, be manly, be unashamed, and to be bold. Speak the truth, and live life abundantly.
Many people will not like this sermon. But, if you put your personal feelings aside, this sermon speaks to the heart of the issues me and my friends are going thru. For us, the message of God is not being spoken, the leaders are not speaking the whole truth (or at least we are all desiring for more), and in return nobody is empassioned about anything. It’s time to start taking the challenge of listening to the whole truth. The FULLNESSof the Gospel. Not just the parts that make you feel comfortable. (Continue reading…)

I had a huge super bowl party at my house about 10 days ago. It was a smashing success. Over 70 people showed up, and we devoured over 15 lbs of shrimp, two kegs, 10 pizzas, countless snacks, and played many games of ping pong.
Before all the people arrived, I toured the house with my video camera to snap what the home looks like when it’s all clean. (Continue reading…)

I can’t figure out if this kid’s name is Warren or Lauren. There’s a bit of a debate online. Whatever his name is, these commercials always make me laugh, and some of the best NASCAR commercials out today. Here’s my favorite.
**UPDATE: I believe the kid’s name is Lorne Wallace.

A while back, I did a post on “real men“. I stumbled across a few spoken word poem’s spoken by Gemineye and Shihan (via HBO’s Def Poetry), and was really taken back by them. These men were speaking words rarely heard on the stage they were performing. After watching the video, you can tell by the audience’s response on how well their poems were received. I really feel the world, not only respects these types of thoughts, but needs them brought to the forefront more often. These are the kind of thoughts that should be celebrated.
A while back Youtube deleted some of Shihan’s videos for some reason or another. But, they are now back. Here’s a series of videos from Shihan I created. Enjoy.

Charlotte, NC - best real estate market! Based on these listings in my neighborhood, it looks like I have over $125K in equity in my home. That’s a 55% increase on my investment in just 5 years. Amazing! The real estate bubble is no where to be found in Charlotte. (Comment)
